At a number of large pig farms, the staff recorded a pathology in piglets that was called «harefeet». The article describes possible reasons of the disease occurrence, methods of its treatment and prevention.
Keywords: pig production, piglet, population, microflora, bacterium, «harefeet», culling, claw, weanlings, antibiotic, prestarter, chelate silicon, selenium.
Regular farrowing with rhythmical production of piglets throughout a year is an important challenge for pig farmers. Solution of the challenge would allow a maximum use of the breeding stock, premises and manpower. Results of the experiments prove efficacy of the product Magestrofan® made by a Russian company Mosagrogen for arranging synchronous farrowing.
Keywords: pig production, piglet, sow, insemination, fertilisation, farrowing synchronisation, prostaglandin F2а, live weight, sow pregnancy, progesterone, Magestrofan®.
A method of drawing blood from superficial femoral veins of male pigs during mounting on phantom that was developed in France was successfully tested at large Russian pig farms.
Keywords: male pig, live weight, stress, superficial auricular and femoral veins, semen, mounting on phantom, ejaculation.
The authors believe that for stable increase in the output of high-quality commercial pork and improvement of profit of agricultural enterprises it is necessary to receive young animals both for herd reproduction and fattening only from single replacement gilts.

To produce commercial hybrids of pigs and improve properties of their meat in conditions of industrial technology, Russian scientists developed a complex of selection genetic methods.

Peas are one of the best protein feeds for all species of livestock animals. Extrusion processing improves its feed properties.

The article describes the most important aspects of post-natal development of pigs that must be considered for successful pig growing.
Keywords: pig production, piglets, sows, neonatality, post-natal development period, hypothermia, dehydration, hypoglicemia, intoxication, colostrum, milk, immunity, microflora, die-off
Self-developing species compliance pig breeding suggests refusal of such production group as basic sows, and receiving commercial piglets exclusively from single sows.

Today, manual way of receiving sperm from male pigs using a sow phantom is considered one of the most effective ways. Sperm is taken during mounting of the stud boar on a phantom or dummy sow.
